Letisha Marrero, PhD

Letisha Marrero, Ph.D. is a bilingual psychologist with over twenty years’ experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Dr. Marrero is classically trained in psychodynamic theory and uses a variety of evidenced-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing to meet clients where they are to help them achieve their treatment goals. Her experience working in school-based health centers affords her the skills to offer school consultation and to assist parents in navigating their relationships with the school for the optimal benefit of their children. Dr. Marrero specializes in the evaluation and treatment of depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, and behavioral disorders in children and adolescents. She also specializes in the evaluation and treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and phase of life issues in adults. Dr. Marrero offers a culturally-sensitive, trauma- informed, and client-centered approach to her work with youth, adults and their families.
In addition to private practice, Dr. Marrero is also a Manager of Psychology Programs at New York Presbyterian Hospital and Assistant Clinical Professor of Medical Psychology in Psychiatry at Columbia University Irvine Medical Center. In this role, Dr. Marrero is responsible for program development and supervision of the Diagnostic Evaluation and Stabilization Center at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital which provides extensive diagnostic assessments and stabilization for children and adolescents in need of acute care.
